What is ICE?

ICE stands for Identifiant Commun de l'Entreprise — the common company identifier. It's a 15-digit number assigned by the Moroccan administration to every business and auto-entrepreneur, and it stays the same for the life of the activity.

Its purpose is to give your business a single identity across all administrations — tax authority, social security (CNSS), and trade register — instead of a different number with each.

What is RC?

RC is the trade register number (Registre de Commerce), proving your activity is officially registered with the competent commercial court. It consists of a serial number tied to the city of registration (for example: RC 12345 — Casablanca).

Why must they appear on invoices?

Moroccan law requires invoices to carry precise identification of the supplier — ICE above all. An invoice without the issuer's ICE:

• may be rejected by the tax authority as a deductible expense for your client, making companies reluctant to work with you;
• exposes you to fines during a tax audit;
• simply looks unprofessional to larger clients.

How do you get them?

• Auto-entrepreneurs: receive an ICE automatically when registering under the auto-entrepreneur regime.
• Companies: the ICE is issued during incorporation, and the RC is obtained from the commercial court when the company is registered.
